Working and Learning

Anusha shares her story of dedication to learning English as a second language while managing her full-time job. She is a testament to how online learning can bring dreams within reach, offering both flexibility and affordability. Thank you, Anusha, for sharing your experience and reminding us that with determination, any goal is achievable!

I am Anusha and I want to write about learning English and working. I come from a city in India and many people in my neighbourhoods do not speak good English but I since I was young I want to learn English. I have a goal to learn English so one day I can study in a different country so I will need to pass an English Exam for that. I work as a reception attendant from 8 in the morning until 6 at evening so I am normally tired. But I keep having a dream of speaking English fluently. I thought it was impossible because I did not have time to attend classes and tutoring here is hard to find and sometimes expensive for me.

My friend told me about online English classes and it works for her schedule so I wanted to try. Honestly I thought learning online wont teach me anything but I was wrong about this. I did not know how would I learn on a computer? But I still tried because the classes are cheaper and I can learn after work from my own house. The first day I was a bit scarred but the tutor was very nice. She knows that I was just starting and made me feel okay.

My best part for online learning means I can study English anytime I want. I can study at night or early in the morning. Sometimes I can learn during my lunch break at work using my phone when not so busy. Now I can keep working and learning at the same time. After every lesson its like I know more English than before with reading but I still need to do more work with writing. Maybe the reader can tell when they read this story. Slowly I started to understand more words in movies and songs. Last week I went to the capital in India called Delhi and helped a tourist who spoke only English. It was small conversation but I feel happy and brave after it.

Really thankful for online learning. Because if not I can not learn English properly and I will have never got the chance to meet my teacher Amrit. Because of him I am learning English faster and I can work also

Thanks a lot, from Anusha
